Last summer, we committed to building an inclusive entrepreneurial community, with access for all—particularly for those in the Black community. One of the specific commitments we made was to add a Black advisor to our fund’s advisory board, who can work closely with us to fill the gaps in our own understanding of the unique problems and opportunities facing the non-white population.
We are now very excited to announce that Aaron Clark, Founder & CEO of Justice Reskill and Equity Solutions, will be playing this crucial advisory role at Matchstick Ventures. Through his work at the intersection of justice, equity, and technology, Aaron has already demonstrated his potential as a leader, community builder, and changemaker. We look forward to the new perspectives that Aaron will bring into our fund strategy discussions and will look to him to connect us with more non-white founders and to help our portfolio companies diversify their leadership and identify new opportunities to serve BIPOC communities.
Aaron is the Founder & CEO of Justice Reskill, a social enterprise that equips justice-involved individuals with the skills, resources, and connections needed to achieve lasting career success in tech and related high-wage industries. He currently leads the Equity Initiative for Energize Colorado and acts as the co-chair for the Developer Track of Denver Startup Week, an advisory council member for the Responsible Business Initiative for Justice. Aaron was recently named to Colorado's 2020 Inno on Fire list, and Equity Solutions, the parent organization of Justice Reskill, was selected as Boulder Chamber of Commerce Startup of the Year in 2021.
